Get the Glow!

With holiday season almost upon us, we would all like beautiful sun-kissed skin but none of us want the after-effects of a tan, which is loss of elasticity, sagging, premature skin ageing and pigmentation. Not to mention the long term damage to our skin cells that the UV rays can cause. Well, the good news is that you can have both!

Firstly, the most important thing we can do for our skin is to drink enough water. Particularly in a warmer climate you should be drinking at least 6 full glasses of water a day. Start first thing in the morning. Drink a tumbler full of water before you even brush your teeth. Eat plenty of skin-feeding fruit and veg - at least 6 portions a day. Fish containing Omega-3 oils are also great for your skin (and joints)

Secondly use a factor 50 sunscreen. "No" I hear you scream! I will be white! Well, the good news is that despite the fact that your skin is protected from harmful rays you will still gain some colour, just not the skin-damaging kind. If you're spending time out in the sun, wear a hat. And always protect your eyes with a certified pair of sunglasses. Your future self will thank you for it.
